2013 Book Fair is here!

Instructions for Book Fair:

We encourage you to look over the list and discuss the options with your child/ren. If you decide to participate, please feel free to fill out the form and have your child bring it (and the payment) to the school. Parents, please do not send your child with loose money!! Please place the order with money in an envelope with your child?s name written on the outside.

Shopping Hours:

Students: Students in grades 1-7 will be visiting the fair during their allotted time. Each class will be visiting once during the fair (refer to schedule). This will be the only time your child will have a chance to purchase from the fair with his class. If you would like for your child to purchase books during this time, please send cash or a check (made out to YNJ LIBRARY). Or, if you would prefer, you may send your child with money to make his own selection at that time.

The 8th graders will be allowed to visit with their classes at various points of the fair.

Parents: Parents have the following two opportunities to shop at the fair:

1. You may accompany your child with his class (refer to class schedule), NO STROLLERS will be permitted in the library while classes are visiting.

2. Visit any morning during the dates of the fair.

*Please note: Although the preschool will not be visiting the fair, we do have a large stock of picture books and early readers. We encourage the preschool parents to stop by any morning. In addition, We will be open during the siddur party on June 5nd and 6th. Alternatively, parents may fill out the order form and send it up to the library, where we will fulfill the order.

Library Description

The RYNJ library contains over 17,000 volumes, including an extensive non-fiction section which directly supports the school's curriculum. We have fiction books at all reading levels. For our faculty we have videos and professional education materials. In addition, we have 12 internet-accessible computers which also provide entry to our library's electronic catalog.

Mission Statement

Our Mission at the RYNJ Library Media Center:

  • To provide students with information literacy skills in both print and online resources, based on the school's curriculum, enabling them to become lifelong users of information.
  • To promote literature appreciation in order to foster a love and respect for books.
  • To teach our students correct library circulation procedures in order that they shall develop responsible borrowing habits.
